Here’s an illustration we created that shows the changes in crime rates in the United States over the years. Crime rates overall have gotten better, but they’re still not as low as they used to be. It is nice to see that the US is headed in the right direction instead of things getting worse. Another interesting thing to look at is the number of people incarcerated by state and the number of violent crimes by states. It looks like some states are much more peaceful than others.
